Double Bay is a great location both for local entertainment and for access to all of Sydney's major entertainment venues. It is just ten minutes to Circular Quay and Opera House by ferry and a short ride further takes you to Darling harbour and Sydney Casino. Of course, you can travel by water taxi if you prefer your independence.

Locally Double Bay provides live entertainment at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, the Golden Sheaf Hotel and Cherry Jam Nightclub. A short trip takes you to Sydney Cricket Ground, a wide range of theatres, jazz clubs and cinemas, night clubs galore, Sydney Dance Company and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, to mention but a few venues. Sydney Opera House
Possibly Australia's most famous landmark, Sydney Opera House provides a stunning venue for classical and non-classical concerts, drama, modern dance and ballet and. of course, opera.

The Opera House is a short walk from Circular Quay ferries and trains and is well serviced by taxis and buses. There is also extensive parking for people who wish to arrive by car.



Winston's Lounge
Winston’s Lounge, Stamford Plaza Hotel, is the Eastern Harbour side's most popular bar featuring live entertainment Tuesday to Saturday. 

Enjoy casual dining for lunch and dinner or relax with afternoon tea by the open fireplace.  Cigar connoisseurs have a variety of international cigars to choose from in the cigar lounge.

Capitol Theatre
The history of the Capitol Theatre can be traced back to 1893 when theatrical and circus perfomances took place on this site. By 1928 it had become The Capitol with seating for 2,999 people.

Substantially refurbishment was completd in 1995 and it is now a venue for major musicals, operas and dance company productions.



 
Sydney Cricket Ground & Aussie Stadium
Sydney Cricket Ground and Aussie Stadium stand side by side and are about 10 minutes by taxi from Double Bay.

Here you can see international cricket matches, Australian Rules football, Rugby League matches, live outdoor concerts and major boxing tournaments.

Major concerts have included, the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Elton John and Maddona. 

Star City & Sydney Casino
Star City is a major complex with a restaurants, bars, a casino, entertainment venues, a hotel, apartments and conference facilities.

The Lyric Theatre at Star City features major musical and dance concerts, while the Star City Casino is open 24 hours a day and offers a range of table limits to suit both casual and serious players.



The Basement Reiby Place
A ten minute ferry ride from Double Bay takes you to Circular Quay, and a four minute walk from there is "The Basement" nightclub.

Major Australian & International artists perform here and the music tends to lean towards jazz and there is an excellent restaurant and bistro.
