Sydney Ferries Double Bay is just 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay, Sydney's central ferry terminal. A ferry ride is both refreshing and relaxing (no traffic lights, no traffic holdups and no petrol fumes), it also lets you see the delights of Sydney Harbour.
Ferries run on a regular basis and can be used to get to places as far afield as Watson's Bay, Manly, Taronga Zoo, Woolwich, Darling Harbour, Balmain, Birkenhead, Drummoyne, Sydney Olympic Park and Parramatta. Sydney Taxis A taxi journey to the centre of Sydney takes about 10 minutes and costs around $10, while a journey to, or from the airport will take about 20 minutes and cost about $25. However, more time should be allowed in the rush hour. Taxis are readily available in Double Bay with a taxi ranks in Knox Street (outside the cosmopolitan centre) and Cross Street (outside the Stamford Plaza Hotel)

Sydney City Rail Double Bay is about 7 minutes stroll from Edgecliff Station which is on the Eastern Suburbs line. Leaving the station turn right and either walk down New South Road, or if you prefer to glimpse harbour views, walk down Ocean Street and turn right into Cooper Street. In either case you will shortly be in Knox Street, the heart of Double Bay.
Edgecliff (on the The Eastern Suburbs line) is just a short ride (less than 10 minutes) from Central Station, where train journeys can be started to almost anywhere in Australia. There are regular services to the Blue Mountains, Sydney Olympic Park, Woollongong and Newcastle.
Bondi Explorer The Bondi Explorer is a great way to visit Double Bay. Departing from Circular Quay every 30 minutes it passes through many of Sydney most picturesque suburbs with 19 separate stops including Double Bay, Watson's Bay and, of course Bondi Beach. Make sure you stop off in Double Bay for a cup of coffee with the in crowd, a stroll along the beach, or a little fashion shopping.
Sydney Buses Double Bay is well served with buses runing regularly to the, The City, Kings Cross, The Rocks, The Opera Opera House and Bondi Juction.
Principal services running through Double Bay include numbers 323, 324, 325 and 326 - Allow about 10-12 minutes to get to the City in normal traffic and 15-20 minutes in the rush hour. The trip to Circular Quay/The Opera House will take about 5 minutes more.
